Light Laboratory at UCC

I’ve recently been working on Light Laboratory: Optical Science Past, Present, Future, a Citizen Science event taking place as part of 2025 Science Week. The project brings together optical science and theatre, transforming The UCC Granary Theatre and the Tyndall National Institute to explore the past, present—and imagine the future—of light.

I’ve been involved in co-designing the event materials, working across copywriting, illustration and design, helping to shape how the project is communicated and recieved. It’s been a really enjoyable process—thinking about how complex scientific ideas can be made accessible, inviting and visually engaging.

Organised by The Future Humanities Institute and IPIC at Tyndall, UCC, and funded by Research Ireland’s Discover Science Week Programme. The event takes place November 14th and 16th, 2025.
