TARA trauma-informed practice
In 2025, Becky Hatchett collaborated with University College Cork on the TARA Project, contributing a creative, reflective layer to a national initiative focused on trauma-informed practice. Becky led the development of the project’s visual identity, creating the overall look and feel of TARA alongside logos, illustrations and a cohesive design system that could flex across multiple outputs and audiences, in particular those working to improve outcomes for the children and families who come into contact with the Social Services.
Working closely with the project team, she designed and developed tailored materials for each of the TARA cluster groups, translating complex ideas into clear, accessible and visually engaging resources that supported learning, reflection and discussion. Becky also facilitated reflection activities with participants, using creative methods to help surface lived experience, insight and shared learning across disciplines.
At the TARA Project launch event in December 2025, Becky acted as artist and facilitator, evoking and creating a live artistic interpretation of feedback on the day. Through visual harvesting, she captured key themes, conversations and responses in real time, producing a collective reflection that honoured participants’ contributions and reinforced the project’s core values of connection, safety and collaboration.
